Dan Shukis


Captain Shukis has been a member of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office since March, 1989. Capt. Shukis has experience working in the Jail, House Arrest/Work Release, Road Patrol, Warrants, Training, Administration and Investigations.

Career

Captain Shukis was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 1997, the rank of Sergeant in 2000, the rank of Lieutenant in 2009, and the rank of Captain in 2016. Captain Shukis is a past member of the Field Force Unit, and is the current unit commander of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiations Unit, which consists of ten members.

Membership

Captain Shukis participates on several committees within the Sheriff's Office and for Sarpy County, including the Employee Sick Bank, County Employee Recognition, and the Department Head Advisory Group. He coordinates the Sarpy County Medicine Drop event, where the public can voluntarily turn in prescription medication for disposal.

Education

Captain Shukis graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and holds a Master of Science Degree in Security Management. Captain Shukis is a graduate of the 272nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
