How do I know if I’m eligible for the 4-Hour Class?

Eligibility for the 4-Hour STOP Class includes persons who:

  • Do not have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from any state
  • Do not wish to contest their citation
  • Have not taken the 4-Hour class with this program within the last 3 years and are cited for one of the following:
    • Driving Left of Center
    • Driving on the Shoulder
    • Failure to Signal
    • Failure to Yield Right-of-Way
    • Following Too Closely. If involved in an accident, you must contact the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office at 402-593-2230 prior to registering to determine eligibility.
    • Illegal Turn
    • Improper Passing
    • Speeding
      • 1 to 10 miles per hour in a school or construction zone
      • 1 to 20 miles per hour over the speed limit
    • Violated Stop Sign
    • Violated Traffic Signal
