Starting Monday, Aug. 16, two roads will be closed in northwestern Sarpy County as the county works to transform the arterial road network in the area.
180th Street from Giles to 180th Avenue is also closing. This will be a permanent closure, as 180th Street is being rerouted.
An additional section of Giles Road also will close, from 180th to 185th Streets. At that time, Giles will be closed from 185th to 173rd Street. This is an extended closure, and work is expected to last through the fall of 2023.
Both closures are needed to reconstruct the intersection at 180th and Giles as well as to build a bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks.
Drivers should continue to use Harrison Street, 168th Street, Highway 370 and 204th Street as detours.
The CONNECTSarpy – West Sarpy road program is improving connectivity in an area experiencing vast growth. This road program involves approximately 9 miles of arterial roadways. Full completion is set for fall 2023.
