Monthly Tests of Outdoor Warning Siren System in Sarpy County Moving to Wednesdays

Siren from Emergency Management

Beginning in March, regularly scheduled tests of the outdoor warning siren system in Sarpy County will be conducted on the first Wednesday of every month at 11 a.m. The first test of 2023 is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, at 11 a.m.

Tests were previously conducted at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month.

The new Wednesday schedule will better facilitate system upkeep and will occur at the same time as Doulas County’s test.

The system is tested monthly from March through October. Tests are conducted to exercise the equipment and assess functionality.

Tests may be delayed, postponed or cancelled if temperatures are too cold or if severe weather is in the area.
