In September 2017, Sarpy County and the cities of Bellevue, Gretna, La Vista, Papillion and Springfield approved an interlocal agreement to create the Sarpy County and Sarpy Cities Wastewater Agency. The agency's task is to build the Unified Southern Sarpy Wastewater System, a sanitary sewer system to serve the southern portion of Sarpy County.
Southern Sarpy County Regional Wastewater System - Phase 1A: Springfield Creek Interceptor Sewer Project
The Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency opened bids on September 1, 2021, for the construction of the Sarpy County Regional Wastewater System - Phase 1A Springfield Creek Interceptor Sewer - Cooling Water Blowdown (CWB) Sewer - CWB Equalization Basin. It is anticipated that the construction award will be announced at the Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency Board Meeting in September or October.
August 2021 - The Agency's project team met with interested general contractors at a pre-bid conference.
August 2021 - Construction bids were requested for the Southern Sarpy County Regional Wastewater System - Phase 1A Springfield Creek Interceptor Sewer - Colling Water Blowdown (CWB) Sewer - CWB Equalization Basin.
July 2021 - Early notification was provided for the advertisement of construction document for bid.
May 2021 -- General contractor meetings were held with the Agency’s project team.
Board Meeting Notice - September 22, 2021
Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the Sarpy County Courthouse, County Boardroom. The meeting will be open to the public. An agenda for the meeting, kept continually current, is available for inspection in the Sarpy County Administration Office.
The chair of the Sarpy County Board of Commissioners and the mayors of Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Gretna and Springfield serve on the Wastewater Agency's Board.
