In September 2017, Sarpy County and the cities of Bellevue, Gretna, La Vista, Papillion and Springfield approved an interlocal agreement to create the Sarpy County and Sarpy Cities Wastewater Agency. The agency's task is to build the Unified Southern Sarpy Wastewater System, a sanitary sewer system to serve the southern portion of Sarpy County.

Phase 1A: Springfield Creek Interceptor Sewer Project – Contractor Engagement Opportunity
The Sarpy County and Cities Wastewater Agency announces a virtual contractor involvement opportunity for the upcoming Springfield Creek Interceptor Sewer Project. This project includes construction of interceptor sewer and cooling water blowdown line generally following Springfield Creek, starting just north of Fairview Road to south of Pflug Road, near Highway 50.
