Biography

Commissioner Jim Warren is the Sarpy County Commissioner for the 5th District who took office on January 11, 2011. He was selected as Vice Chair of the board in 2023.

Warren previously served on the Gretna City Council and as Gretna's Mayor. His roots in the Gretna area go as far back as his Great Grandfather.

Warren holds a degree from Toccoa Falls College (Toccoa Falls, Georgia). He and his wife, Patti, reside in Gretna and have three children: daughters Jamie and Sarah, and son Josiah.

Community Service

Warren considers community service very important to him and is involved in numerous community activities including the Gretna Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and Gretna Chamber. Warren serves as liaison representative for the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency Board of Directors and Mental Health Services.

He previously served on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee and Merit Commission. All Commissioners serve on the Noxious Weed, Board of Corrections and Negotiations Committees.

Warren also spends time in Haiti doing volunteer work.
