The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office Field Force Unit consists of 18 law enforcement officers. Its primary function is responding to incidents that may become, or have become a large-scale civil disturbance. A civil disturbance may result from gatherings of large groups such as demonstrations, sporting events, or other large crowds. Preventing civil disturbances is the focus of the Field Force officers when possible.
Metro Area Rapid Deployment Force
The Sheriff's Office Field Force Unit is a component of the Metro Area Rapid Deployment Force, which includes law enforcement officers from numerous jurisdictions surrounding and including the City of Omaha. These law enforcement officers have been trained in crowd control and field force tactics and are equipped to respond to civil disturbances.
